Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow, And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go. For the children, they mark, and the children they know the place where the sidewalk ends.

The Fred Flinstone Car

This is what I affectionately call the "Fred Flinstone Car" because you can see the kids feet tip toe-ing underneath it as they drive it (dink dink dink)...I can almost hear the twinkle toes music from the old cartoon playing in my head as I watch them drive it...

Heather calls it "MY Car" and is OBSESSED with driving it. We keep it in the garage and she goes out there for an hour or so every day to take it for a spin. On the day this picture was taken, she had somehow managed to get it into the kitchen and was taking it for a drive through the living room. I nipped that in the bud when she almost drove it down the stairs to the basement...

So anyway, a couple of days ago, she was out driving in the garage and I needed to go out there to take out some garbage. Evan had put the garbage cans on the side of the house, so I opened up the garage door and carried the bags out. When I turned around, (all of about 15 seconds later) Heather was gone. I was frantic. Then I saw the twinkle toes herself...HALF WAY DOWN THE BLOCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET! dink-dink-dink...Unfortunately it was way more funny to me in that moment than it was scary so I started laughing so hard I could barely breath. Of course I brought her right back and made lots of scary threats of spankings if she ever did that again (through my uncontrollable laughter). Now I have to watch her like a hawk because she probably thinks driving down the road is just a big joke...

Hey Rebecca! Your kids are cute and funny. I love reading the quotes on the side. How do you like your new house? We are getting settled in and even painting-although we'll have to paint it back to white in a year when we move again! Anyway, hope you are feeling well and everything is going alright for you guys. Take care.

Sheena and I were just reading about Heather and her cute and scary story, when Sheena said, "That's my Heather." I hope she was meaning that's my cousin and not how cool is that. These girls have minds of their own, don't they, but I know they come by it honestly. I won't quote anything here, but I definitely think the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree!!!!!
